Science-informed Sound Creator

Bec creates music and sound-based experiences, grounded in science-informed auditory design and intuitive creative practice. Their work integrates decades of experience as a music producer with their science-based sound design and music creation. It draws on established and emerging auditory tools, including auditory entrainment, binaural beats, sound masking, sound enrichment, and targeted auditory neurostimulation.

Sound design techniques included in Bec's work:

  • Auditory entrainment
Rhythmic auditory stimulation, metronome cueing, tempo-based regulation, monaural beats, and isochronic tones. These approaches use rhythm, pulse, or timing cues to support synchronisation, regulation, attention, movement, or state-shifting.
  • Binaural beats
Two slightly different frequencies presented separately to each ear, creating a perceived beat frequency. Often used for relaxation, sleep, meditation, focus, or state-shifting, though the evidence is emerging and highly protocol-dependent.
  • Sonic masking and sound enrichment
White noise, pink noise, brown noise, nature soundscapes, tinnitus sound therapy, and predictable background sound. These approaches can reduce auditory contrast, support sleep, increase environmental predictability, or decrease the salience of intrusive sounds.
  • Targeted auditory neurostimulation
40 Hz gamma stimulation, auditory steady-state stimulation, notched music, tinnitus neuromodulation, and other targeted acoustic protocols.

Exclusive Pre-Release - 3 Phase Sleep EP

Phase 1 - Return to Stillness

A calming and centering track designed to support regulation and prepare the nervous system for rest.

Phase 2 - Transition to Sleep

This track is designed to support the transition from wakefulness into sleep through a combination of sound-based approaches informed by neuroscience and evidence-based auditory sound-design such as sound entrainment and binaural beats.

Phase 3 - Sleep Immersion

This track is designed to support an ongoing sleep state by providing a continuous, low-arousal auditory environment. Unlike Phase 2, which is designed to support the transition into sleep, Phase 3 is intended to be played during sleep, rest, or deep stillness.
